The Rocker Chick Stuck in an Acoustic Folksinger’s Body
“Tina Sicre (pronounced SEE-cray) has a great voice (pronounced WOWIE!)…Sicre, who isn’t very big, sings big. She wades into her gritty songs with all the fervor of Godzilla finding a Yugo under his Christmas tree.”
– Bill Locey, LA Times
Singing, strumming and writing music since I was 9, I have plenty of songs to share and stories to tell. I began my musical journey in Santa Barbara, CA, as front-woman for the local folk-rock band 12 Stories. After several years with the boys, playing the local circuit, I decided to venture out on my own, traveling in my VW bus (accompanied by my 2 big dogs.) I lived the starving musician’s life and loved it.
During my years on the road, I wrote and self-produced two albums, simple and Becoming. I also developed the Living Room Tour as a way to share my musical talents while collecting donations for breast cancer research. To this day, I consider the collection of these adventures to be amongst my greatest achievements.
At present, I live in Santa Barbara with my husband and young son (another of my great achievements), and continue to sing, write, and play music. I now record and play live with LA-based musicians, Stefan Storace (drums), David May (bass), and Erik Madsen (guitar).
I still tell stories, too, and in fact have written my first novel, Stay, which you can learn more about here.
